The Design and Technology Association have launched the 'Believe in Design and Technology' Campaign to support the inclusion of Design and Technology (D&T) in the National Curriculum. The position of D&T in the National Curriculum is currently under threat and there is mounting evidence that even schools with strong D&T departments are reducing the opportunities available to pupils to study the subject.

While this does not apply in Scotland, the loss/diminution of one of the main curriculum vehicles for introducing design and technology into schools south of the border, might well impact on the UK supply of potential students and graduates.

D&T is also one of the subjects taken by Architectural Technology applicants at university alongside mathematics and physics.
