The Association of Consultant Architects (ACA) has announced
that Terry Brown has succeeded Brian Waters as President of the ACA for a two-year term.
Mr Brown is a consultant to GMW Architects where he was a senior design partner
from 1991 to 2009. He also works as an independent consultant and RIBA Client Advisor and has a broad range of
experience leading the design team often on complex projects in sensitive settings and within historic
buildings. He is committed to an ecological approach and has an active interest in conceptual design, design
management, sustainable urbanism and Town Planning.
Mr Brown said ‘I am honoured to have been elected President of the ACA and I
will work to ensure that the ACA continues to raise awareness of the profession and promote best practice.
During his four years as President Brian Waters has achieved a great deal and maintained a high profile for the
ACA and I intend to continue where he has left of with issues such as fee scales and the role of the architect
as well as promoting new ways to maintain the ACA as an essential support to the profession, especially in
these difficult times’.
