Masonry wall construction of a house extension
Masonry external walls, especially those built from lightweight concrete blocks, have
varying degrees of porosity, allowing air through. Unfinished mortar joints also provide air leakage routes.
Dry lining
If the dry lining (plasterboard) sheets have not been sealed at the junctions with the ceiling and floor – as
well as from sheet to sheet – air can leak through the gaps.
